Broadening Participation

Dr. Schneider’s research focus within broadening participation in STEM is focused on 1) identifying recruitment and retention barriers in STEM that are specifically related to the experiences of exclusionary behaviors; and 2) developing discipline specific strategies to address these barriers. She is a current and past PI of multiple federally funded awards within this realm and she has served in leadership positions for professional organizations such as the Association for Women in Geosciences and the SEG Women’s Network. She and three other PI’s of the ADVANCEGeo Partnership program developed an LLC in 2023, of which Schneider is the CEO.
